Thank you for this! Great tutorial. One issue that I had though when running in xcode 4 is that when creating a target, xcode automatically makes a main.m file. Delete that file so you can use your c or c++ file instead.

In case you're interested, the program can be compiled without using the Xcode program interface.

You still have to install Xcode, but you don't need to create a project. Just open a Terminal window, go into the directory containing your "main.c", and use the command:

cc -o glut-demo main.c -framework Cocoa -framework GLUT -framework OpenGL

Then type "./glut-demo" and the program runs, with the same window and menu bar, etc that you get from the program built with Xcode. This is in MacOS 10.6.8 and my Xcode is version 3.2.6

You have a tutorial like this but where the target is the iPhone simulator? I'm not sure if GLUT works on the iPhone, so if you can write up something on how to port GLUT-based OpenGL projects directly onto the iPhone that would be great.

btw, if i add more than 1 file in the same project, say in ur example XCodeGLUT project other den main.c i have another main2.c with exactly the same code,

i get a compile error (when i try to build and go) with the exit saying duplicated symbol display, its under linking,

any idea?
